
Phyllis Isaacson
Brattleboro musician, Phyllis Isaacson, is active in southern Vermont as a pianist, conductor, and producer of concerts in both the classical and jazz styles. As a piano soloist, Ms. Isaacson performed with the Boston Pops and with the Frederick, MD Symphony. As a jazz musician, she plays both acoustic and electric keyboards, playing in combos with many jazz musicians in southern Vermont and Massachusetts for concerts, weddings, corporate events, and parties. She has accompanied numerous vocal and instrumental soloists. She recently appeared at Memorial Hall Center for the Arts in Wilmington in a jazz concert for the benefit of Habitat for Humanity.
Phyllis Isaacson earned a Bachelor of Music Education and Piano from Boston University and a Masters Degree in Conducting from the New England Conservatory of Music. Conducting and teaching positions have included high schools and colleges, and directing adult choral organizations in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maryland. She has conducted All State and District festivals throughout New England, Maryland and Virginia, and was the founder/music director of Cantate Chamber Singers in Maryland. She is currently conducting rehearsals for a choral program for Friends of Music at Guilford
