His playing has been described by the Vermont Vanguard as "…clean, innovative breaks that set him apart… in power and style…" and as " cool, infusing his solos with a lush almost tender lyricism. In addition to performing, he is frequently called on by music educators to conduct and adjudicate high school and college jazz ensembles. Some of these ensembles include the Barbary Coast at Dartmouth College, the Vermont All-State and District ensembles, and the Northeast Instrumental Music Festival
in Lake Placid, New York. He is music director of the Nonet for "Jazz Vermont"
