George Voland, valve trombone, plays lyrical and swinging jazz. He plays regularly with the Vermont Jazz Ensemble and Pine Street Jazz. He's also a freelance player, appearing monthly with bassist Ellen Powell, and with tenor saxophonist Larry McCrorey in northern Vermont; and, on occasion, with Fred Haas, Bob Merrill, and David Westphalen in the Upper Valley. As "George Voland JAZZ:" he forms groups of various sizes and styles, and he teaches/coaches individuals and groups of jazz musicians of all ages.
